    • The next area has a blurb about the last Family Reunion. It also has a link to the Reunion Evaluation Form PDF (VG) and to the online Reunion Evaluation Form.

About This Web Site – A history of how the web site came to be. There is also a techie area.

Contact Us - These are the email addresses for the Committee, Officers, Welford-Woods Descendants events and other web site related contacts.

Web Site Guide – This page.

Web Site / Web Search – This is a Google based search for the web site or for the internet. This search engine looks at any text on the web site. It also looks at any documents on the web site such as PDF, MS Word, Excel, etc. It can not see text embedded in a graphic. It does not search pages in the restricted areas. If you only want to search the web site check the box next to “only search Welford-Woods Descendants“. If this box is unchecked it will search the internet. The results appear as if you did a regular Google search. To return to the Search Page you can use your browser's Back button. Note: If you do a search with the input field left blank you will get a regular Google search page.

The Family Section

Family – This is the What's Happening, What Has Happened and What's Going To Happen section of the web site. This is the soul of the web site.

Reunion 2012 - The latest information about the next Family Reunion.

Archives (VG) – This section has current and older documents and files.
    • The first area is Newsletters from December 2000 to the latest.
     • The next area is a collection of Articles and Writings done by family and family friends.
    • The next area is documents related to past and future Family Reunions. This includes such items as hotel fliers, menus, schedules of events, etc.
    • The next area is documents related to the Salem Willows Cook Out including fliers, driving directions and check lists.
    • The next area is the entire Cousin Connection newsletter series from January 1981 to August 1992.
    • The last area is announcements about the Autumn Bulb Plantings at interment sites started in 2005.

Bulletin Board – This page is for family announcements such as births, graduations, weddings, anniversaries or anything else the family might be interested in sharing with other family.

Events – This page has more detailed information about annual and regularly scheduled family events such as the Annual High Tea, the Men and Boys Lunch, the Salem Willows Cook Out, etc.

Forum - The new (8-14-11) Family Forum. It is now more easily accessible and has more features and options for registered users. There is also a link to the Forum Usage Policy, the standards and rules which participants agree to abide by, available online and as a PDF.

User Control Panel Guide - Once you are a registered user you should go to this page which explains the User Control Panel. This is where you
can change your password, send private messages and other things that determine what other registered users see about you.

Fun (VG) - Puzzles, games, etc. for the entire family. Initially there are and will be word search puzzles about Welford-Woods Descendants but I hope to have other fun things and I really hope family will submit items.

History - Historical family records, documents (VG), anecdotes (VG) and the Family Tree (VG).

Recipes (VG) - Favorite family recipes. Currently there are only 2 but this should grow. What's your favorite recipe?

Traditions - The traditions that bind and bond families. I found many of these on other web sites. It is my hope that family will submit their own traditions.

Profiles - Articles and profiles about or by family members and friends. Some are articles from magazines or newspapers. Some were on the internet. Others are written by family members.

Videos (VG) - Movies made by family. As of 9-11-11 this section was moved to the Photo Galleries.

The Photo Galleries Section (VG)

Photo Galleries - Photos from annual, scheduled and special family events. This is the heart of the web site. Photos are the enduring and timeless legacy of the people we love and care about. They are a frozen moment in time which we can revisit and rekindle fond memories.

As of 9-10-11 the photo galleries were moved to a stand alone program with a link to them and a quick user guide on the web site page. Please visit this page. In addition this program tells you how many photo albums there are and how many photos are in each. It works very much the same way as the previous version but has more features which I hope to exploit very soon.

I am and will be using a simplified naming convention for photos. Letters will identify which gallery each photo is in: “ht” for Annual High Tea, “mbl” for Men & Boys Lunch, “njbs” for Njeri & Jason's Baby Shower, “swyy” for Salem Willows Cook Out where the yy is for the last 2 digits of the year, “p” for Family Gallery, “a” for Family Reunion 2000, “b” for Family Reunion 2002, “c” for Family Reunion 2005, “d” for Family Reunion 2009 and “ffm” for Founding Family Members. Each photo will also have a 4 digit number from 0001 to potentially 9999.

The Remember Section - Remembering our Loved Ones who have had their sunsets.

Remembrances – This section has 3 pages remembering those who have had their sunsets in the 1800’s, 1900’s and 2000’s. Where possible each entry has sunrise date, sunset date, birth city and sunset city. Also where available are Funeral programs, Obituaries, Eulogies and other related documents.

Remembering... - This section has pages devoted to the accomplishments, achievements and legacies of Loved Ones. If there was a family profile it has been or will be moved to this section.

Interments - The places where our Loved Ones are interred. Where possible it lists the cemetery, address, telephone number, web site and plot information. I am working on having Google maps and directions.

Interment Markers (VG) - This was moved to the new Photo Galleries as of 9-11-11. Pictures of head stones, etc. which can be clicked for a larger image. The photos can also be downloaded and printed. Photos of interment markers are important because they may have historical information. They may also be damaged or destroyed. There may also be family and friend who may not be able to personally visit interment sites but would like to see what is there.

Remembrance Gallery (VG) – These are photos of the Loved Ones who have gone on. It works just like the other photo galleries on this web site. Each photo has the same information found in the Remembrances section. It also has a music option while the gallery is being viewed. Currently it plays “In The Upper Room” by Mahalia Jackson.

The Calendars Section

Calendars – There is one page for each month. They have a column for birthdays (A Loved One who has passed has their name in italics), a column for sunsets with the year if available and a column for other information such as anniversaries, family events (with the year), etc.

The Forms Section

2009 Reunion Evaluation Form which can be submitted online. After submitting, a confirmation page will open in new tab or window.

Newsletter Request Form to request the family newsletter by email or post.

Upload Files where up to 10 files (documents, pictures, movies, etc.) can be uploaded. The maximum total of all files is 25 MB. All files are sent to me for processing. This is useful for those whose email program limits either the number of files that can be sent at one time and / or if the total size of files sent has to be less than 25 MB.

The Other Section

WWDC - The current and former WWDC officers. Clicking on a current officer's name will open your default email program.
